Conceived shortly after Fafara parted ways with Coal Chamber in 2001, DevilDriver released their self-titled Roadrunner Records debut. The record exudes a vast array of metal, culling influence from the blackest of black metal and the deadliest of death metal, to traditional classic metal. In regards to the music, Fafara states, “I decided to make a life choice and a musical choice, and that choice was to follow my own love and passion, and that passion is brutal, extreme music!”
Touring is where Farfara fully expects to bring his malicious metal to the masses. DevilDriver has created its own style of rage, darkness, and fury. Songs like “Die (And Die Now),” “I Could Care Less,” and ”Nothing's Wrong?” prove that this band has enough artillery to fuel a nation’s army. Fafara concludes, “We don't pander to what radio wants, we play music for our fans!”
