Jorge Oliveira has a unique teaching style that enables students to reach their full potential. Jorge’s technical prowess and attention to detail is truly rare among Jiu Jitsu practitioners. More importantly, he has the ability to translate and effectively communicate his vast knowledge base to the students while maintaining a fun and safe environment. The success of his students across the globe and at all levels of the sport is a testament to his dedication and teaching ability. Jorge is able to recognize each student’s limits and to work with each student on an individual basis.
Biography
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Jorge trained in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as well as Judo as a child. When he became a teenager he also began studying Boxing and Muay Thai. He is currently a second degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has won several major tournaments under Gracie Barra/Barra Team. In his early twenties, Jorge opened his first Jiu Jitsu academy, where he taught his art, making some of his students Brazilian national champions. In the U.S., he has worked and taught some of the most respected MMA fighters, such as Wanderlei Silva , Mauricio Shogun, Evan Tanner and Quintin Rampage Jackson.
